Farewell to Session 4 Grads; Hello New 2018 Students!

10 students graduated on Friday, Dec. 22 from EGTI job training programs that included Hosting (restaurant) and Inventory Distribution and Nutrition Services (healthcare). Those EGTI alumni are now on the path to employment and living the adult lives of their choosing. We look forward to hearing their success stories as they return to their home communities and start their job searches. Joining the student ranks of EGTI are eight new students beginning programs on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018. This session features both 10- and 13-week training curriculum including Kitchen Cook (restaurant), Front Desk Agent and Heart of the House (hotel) and Inventory Distribution (healthcare).

Vocational Rehabilitation Order of Selection Update

Throughout the course of the current school year, there has been a great deal of discussion around Vocational Rehabilitation Services and its implementation of order of selection. At its fall trainings, VR distributed a list of Frequently Asked Questions. That document was recently revised (10-17), and EGTI is providing you the most up-to-date resource. Meet Student Support Specialist, Grace Clark

Grace is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University with a degree in Psychology. Growing up with an older sibling with Down syndrome, Grace's personal experiences have inspired her in her career choices. Prior to joining the EGTI team, Grace worked as a direct support professional for a service provider for individuals with disabilities.

Graduate Updates

Spencer Brinkworth, featured in the foreground, has secured employment.           Morgan Hickman has just celebrated one year at Scotty's Brewhouse in downtown Indianapolis.       Austin Hughes has recently secured employment.         Dusty May of Rushville is working a full time job!

Attend the January General Tour

Monday, January 29, 9 a.m. Prospective students and guardians, educators, counselors, case managers and other service providers are offered opportunities each month to attend a scheduled facility and EGTI tour. The visit takes approximately two hours and includes a walking tour of the hotel, restaurant and training institute as well as some basic information about the curriculum. To reserve space for a general tour, please contact us and include your preferred date and party size in the comments section. Groups may schedule a private tour on alternate dates by calling 317-224-0239.

Career Sampling Session

Due to high demand two new sets of February dates have been added to the calendar of Career Sampling Sessions. Only five spots remain for February, then EGTI is booked for new CSS experiences until June.
