What Parents of Graduates are Saying about the EGTI Experience

Posted May 1, 2016

When looking ahead to the future after high school for their children, parents face many tough choices and engage in lots of conversation. What educational opportunity might be best? Should my child consider opportunities to go directly into the workforce? Where can I turn for support and resources? It isn’t always easy to navigate the transition to adulthood for students—especially students with disabilities.

EGTI offers options and hope for people with disabilities to gain not only viable job skills and support in practicing those skills, but also the opportunity to grow in their personal independence, life skills and decision-making. Here are a few words from just some of the parents of our recent graduates.

“Words cannot express how grateful we are for this opportunity. Olando calls every day and says how wonderful the program is and how much he is learning!”
“Ethan has grown by leaps and bounds! He seems to be thriving in the environment. He’s so enthusiastic and is clearly becoming more independent. We are just thrilled!”
“I want to thank you and your staff for EVERYTHING you have done. The state of Indiana was certainly lacking in this type of programming and you have pulled out all of the stops. The level of care, consideration, patience, work ethic…I cannot commend you enough. Zach has learned so much, not only from the job training perspective, but independence, working with others, socialization, etc. He has been so happy there, and we are so proud of him. Your staff, full and part-time – amazing! I feel so much better about Zach being in the “real world” now that he has completed your program.”

And from Leslie, one of our graduates, “(EGTI) taught me to be a good worker and a good person. I liked it a lot. There are good people in this world who want to help you.”
