Individuals interested in this line of work must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Desire employment
  • Have access to transportation to get to and from training for five weeks
  • Be able to stand on their feet for extended periods of time
  • A high school diploma, or equivalent, is not required to participate in the Catapult program; however, this may be a requirement of some employers.

Catapult Indiana (Built by Conexus Indiana)

Catapult is 140-160 hours of hands-on and classroom interactive training in Indiana’s most important industry, advanced manufacturing, and is available to those who are unemployed or underemployed.

With the skills students learn from Catapult, they can join the thousands of Hoosiers in middle- and high-skill jobs who make products that power our world and improve people’s lives.

The training includes fundamental skills training, creative problem solving, conditioning and injury prevention, root cause analysis, OSHA standards, blueprint reading, teamwork and ethics. Students will earn a certificate in Catapult Advanced Manufacturing Standardized Work Training.

An EGTI instructor will lead the Catapult program onsite at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis. The overall training will last five weeks and will operate Monday-Friday from 6:30am-1:30pm. Four weeks will include content required for the Catapult program and one week for content specific to Allison Transmission and a variety of work readiness skills such as resume development and interview skills.
