Volunteer Opportunities

Tutor

front-desk-practiceA tutor is responsible for reviewing and practicing skills related to content students are learning in the classroom or during their internship or other skills that may need additional practice such as learning to ride public transportation, social skills, etc. Instructors will develop weekly material specifically for tutors to utilize. Each tutor is required to meet with their assigned student at least once per week for one hour. Tutors and students may choose to meet more as agreed upon by both parties.

Community Mentor

A community mentor is responsible for providing social guidance in the community by supporting their assigned double datestudent in social activities. Activities may include, but are not limited to, attending sporting events, concerts, movies and malls. A community mentor is expected to spend time with their assigned student at least once per week. Mentors and students may choose to meet more as agreed upon by both parties.

Fitness Mentor

A fitness mentor is responsible for participating in fitness activities with their assigned student. Fitness activities fitnessmay include, but are not limited to, biking, running, lifting, walking and attending aerobics classes. A fitness mentor is required to participate in at least one fitness activity per week with their assigned student. Mentors and students may choose to meet more as agreed upon by both parties.
